Exchange 2003 smtp routing
Hi, I have 2 exchange servers located at 2 different sites, both with internet smtp connections. Both servers are in the same Exchange organisation, and are linked via a highspeed link. Each site has its own seperate link to the internet which each indiviual smtp connector uses to send/receive mail.
What i am trying to acheive is this
If one of the external links to the internet fails then is it possible to get either smtp connector to automatically route and send mail out via the other. At present the only way I can get close is to manually change the connector on the server with a failed link to forward all mail to a smarhost ie the other exchange server.
I have tried to set up routing groups and specifying multiple bridgheads but to no avail. Surely exchange must be able to do this.
Any help, gratefully received.
