Hi everyone,

I am currently in the process of migrating from Delphi 4 to Delphi 7.
I have been using crystal VCL with Delphi for over 5 years now and they have worked ok for me.
I am re-evaluating everything and I was wondering what are some advantages of using the Crystal RDC instead of the Crystal VCL? I am not familiar at all with the RDC other than I know what it stands for and have in theory an idea of what it does. My biggest headache with the VCL is the dlls that I need to distribute with my app each time and all the headaches I get with a Citrix/Terminal server environment that come with it. I get so many errors with user rights in those environment when trying to print the report.
I am running crystal Report 8.5 and the VCL control I am using in Delphi 4 is 7.4. I will upgrade to Crystal X and hence my decision now on which to use.

Any help will be appreciated

Hello

I don't use Crystal report with Delphi, but I want you to take a look about native Delphi soluation like FastReport or ReportBuilder, both of them powerful and fast, I use fastReport which is very fast and power, and doesn't require any DLL or files to be deployed with your application

I'm still using version 2.5, but version 3 have a lot of new features, and much end user desinger, and may the new version will be cheapter than the upgrade of Crystal Report

just my 2 cents
