Where can I get Java R-tree based index source?

I need an implemented R-tree based index in Java for an iamge data query parser.  Can anyone please help and let me know where I can find such resource with good documentations on how to use it.?  The image data will have Image ID, Region ID, x, y, width, height, red, green, blue, edge0, edge45, edge90, edge145, intensity, cluster, centroid, videoname.   Your help will be very much appreciated!
