outlook 2003 question

Hello I have a couple of users that are using outlook 2003. they were used to outlook 2000. There main compaint is that the icon in teh system tray is not there with teh envelope telling them they have new mail, and that notify is not working, it does not pop up on the screen when they get new mail? any help out there

with outlook2003 open, right click on the outlook icon in the system tray, select "show new mail desktop alert"

to "always show" the mail icon, right click on task bar, properties, on taskbar tab click "customize", find the mail icon and "you have new unopened items" and choose "always show" as the behavior
the icon of course will go away when you've viewed all new mail
