NEED PRINT/CONVERSION UTILITY FOR HP *.HPD FAX FORMAT

Using a hp 3380 laser all in one. Inbound faxes go to hp server process running on windows SERVER 2003 sp2 box. process supposed to be (1) receive propriatEry HP format file (2) convert to *.jpg or pdf format (3) list in fax viewer TO PRINT OUT LATER AS NEEDED. uNFORTUNATELY EVERY COUPLE OF INBOUND FAXES ARE RECEIVED AS PRORPIATERY FORMAT (HPD)FORMAT ONLY AND NOT CONVERETD AUTOMATICALLY TO JPG OR PDF FORMAT. ONLY WAYTO PRINTOUT IS TO PRINT ALL FAXES OUT FROM ANOTHER SCREEN WHICH IS IMPRACTICAL. CALLED HP SAYS 3380 NOT CERTFIED ON WIN 2003 SERVER SO SORRY. TOLD US FORMAT IS HPD FORMAT MEANING HPdEVELOPER FORMAT. TRYING TO FIND EXISTING UTILITY TO REPRINT/CONVERT THESE HPD FILES WHEN ORIGINAL RECEIVING PROCESS FAILS TO DO SO (WE ARE ALSO TROUBLESHOOTING WHY THE RECEIVING PROCESS FAILS - COULD BE USB PORT TIMEOUT RELATED ETC BUT THAT IS ANOTHER SUBJECT) FOR NOW SIMPLY NEED TO FIND CONVERTER/PRINTER UTILITY SO WE HANDLE THESE EXCEPTIONS. ANY ASSISTANCE IS MUCH APPRECIATED!!

Did your all-in-one come with a CD that included HP Document Manger software?  According to this, that program can open these files.

You may be able to open all of the hpd files at once, then print them.  If it's a problem separating them from the ones that were converted, you segregate them in their own subfolder beforehand.

AntonioP,

Thanks for the info. unfortunately only 2 disks, one for mac os and one for windows os came with the hp3380, no disk for their doc man application. I believe that application came with some earlier version printers but I thinkHP is no longer shipping it with the newer models - their website points you to a $4k product now when you search for document management application. However after 12 calls to HP support, we got a tech to send us a cd from an earlier printer product that might work. We'll see and I'll update this post accordingly. Thanks again for your input, it was certainly in the right direction.
