MS has this data type currency which I don't see in Oracle.  Which of the Oracle data type most closely translates to/from the MS CURRENCY?

Not familiar with the CURRENCY datatype (if there is anything special that it does over number or decimal).

I'm pretty sure you need to use the plain old NUMBER datatype in Oracle and specify the decimal places.  For example:  number(10,2) states 8 numbers to the left of the decimal and 2 to the right.

How these are displayed can be modified with to_char and depending on your requirements, possibly some of the NLS settings.
