I have a view that shows response documents.  When I first select the view it is expanded and everything thing shows

ex:

User                           Date                Topic                 response creator           responses

|>Jaziar            |> 03/17/2005       |> Test 1
                                                                                                                          1
                                                                                     Bobby Socks                    0

But when I collaspe the User - this is all that shows back up - so I can not get to my response documents

User                           Date                Topic                 response creator           responses

|>Jaziar            |> 03/17/2005       |> Test 1
                                                                                                                            1

So Bobby Socks never shows back up

You don't show carets? You can always open collapsed lines, using the righthand keyboard + and *, or the smarticons + and ++ at the top.

I need for the responses to show up when I expand them from a collapse column

They show up one line at a time. If you enabled "Show twistie when row is expandable", you'll have to open each line separately. The alternative is to click on the main document, and then on the * on the righthand keybord. The equivalent is to click on the smarticon ++ at the top of the screen. No other ways, except if you implement your own button that does the expansion like the ++ smarticon.

Or do you have many twisties on the main document's line? Better not do that.

There are 3 twisties before the response document

Normally, all categorized columns at the left of the Responses column can have Twisties set, plus the Responses column itself. I still have the feeling I don't exactly understand what the problem is. Can you show some small screenshots (JPG), e.g. post it somewhere on a website, so we could see what it all looks like?

Did you try to type Shift-* to open the whole view?

The shift * works - but I can not exspect my users to know to do that everytime they need to  see all the page.

Why not? They used to know that Shift-F7 means Print in WordPerfect, didn't they? If you added twisties correctly to the right columns, they can use then, so if they don't want to use the Shift-* they'll have to get by with clicking twisties. I'm sorry, there's no alternative I know of.

Then I will add a statement somewhere in the view for the users to know how to do it.

Thanks
