Hi Experts.

Flow:
---internet--(ethernet)
---firewall---(ethernet NAT enabled) 10.0.1.1
---cisco1---(Lease line) 10.0.1.2
---cisco2---(Lease line)10.0.1.3 and (ethernet)10.1.1.3  (two interfaces)
---workstation (ethernet) 10.1.1.4

on the workstation,
IP 10.1.1.4
gateway 10.1.1.3
dns 10.1.1.3

From workstation and Cisco1 results
I can Ping gateway.
I can't resolve DNS names.(can't surf)
Do we need NAT on the Cisco router ? which router?

Please kindly guide me on what needs to be added on both Cisco 3500 configs.. (step by step)

Thanks.

Are you sure you have 3500 series Cisco router ? Maybe its a switch ?
Cisco have 3600 and 3700 series but not 3500 ...
3500 - for Cisco Catalyst switches ...

By the way, where is your DNS server ?
10.1.1.3 - Cisco2 ethernet interface, but its not a DNS server !

Can you post your router configs here ?

-Leo-,

My mistake, it's a 3700 series. For both.

Sad to say, I'm at home now, don't have access.

No DNS server. How can we make this work?

-we can use 10.1.1.3 Router B to act as a dns server ? is this the best way to go about ?
-do we still need to do Internet sharing on the router B ?

Please kindly guide me on the configs we need to add.

Thanks.

I am afraid, Cisco router cannot act as a DNS server
You have to set up one on the PC with Linux or MS Windows server OS.

-Leo-,

I see, so there's no need of NAT ?
or
NAT is same as DNS resolution (basically)

Thanks.
