Add Alias Name
I have a user jadams she just got married and wants to change her email address to jlani but she doesn't want to change her login name yet and wants to keep her old email address in case i added her new email as an SMTP Email under one of the exchange tabs in AD Users Profile and it works when she sends to herself but not from other users on the same domain or from outside -- any ideas --thanks

nothing i dont get an error, i don't get the email either its very wierd

Nope, NDR Generated
If it is still generating the NDR - what does Message tracking tell you? That wasn't a fix BTW, it is a diagnostic tool - it shows whether the message came in or not.
Otherwise, try removing the alias from the account. Wait 30 minutes for Windows to update itself. Then put it back in. Leave the existing email address in place.

no no my fiorst try worked i just orgot to put in one o the email adresses to the main domain (slight overlook) i got it right the first time. thank you
You will have at least two email addresses listed: jlani@domain.com and jadams@domain.com
One of those will be default.
What happens when another user tries to send to the new email address?
