Expr in Report

How can i make it that a report displays the final total of a table's contents. Like in HireOut table i have a column that displays the entire total of the record, then i want to add all the records' total column and display it.  Like a total sales report.  When i use QRExpr on the QReport tab and make it Sum(tblHireout.totalsales), then when i run pgm, it doesnt give a value.  Using Delphi 5.

There is a problem with positioning your QRExpr on the bands...
You shoul position it on a summary band

i just have a simple query that joins the primary keys of two tables, because im calling other data in my report as well that is related to it.  then i have 3 bands, title, detail, summary.
On detail is different costs, the datasets set to querytotalcosts.  the report as well
then expr is sum(tblHireout.sales) + sum(tblHireout.extracost) etc.  (adding other costs to this to get the total sales)
