asked on

Enable RCP on redhat 9 pro

Hey gang,

I need to be able to use rcp from Solaris to RedHat 9 Professional running on an intel box.

And before I get too many comments about the value of scp/ssh...I agree, but the requirements of the situation demand either "rcp" or an "scp" command the responds EXACTLY as an "rcp" (meaning it can't ask for passwords, or require repeated keygens and such.)

Thanks for the help as always!

P.S.  Even if it is "scp" it has to repond to an "rcp" command from another server I.E. ...

SUNserver#: rcp /tmp/testfile LINUXserver:/tmp

I CAN do an rlogin and rsh without problem...but when I do the above command, I get a "Protocol error, LINUXserver closed connection" error.

Thanks!

Are you saying on the Solaris server you *can't* change the rcp call to scp?
