Hoiw To Delete False Addresses in Outlook XP

Outlook for XP has a nice feature where you simply enter a few letters of the recipient's name in the To: section of a new email and a small window shows possible matching email addresses..  In several cases, it shows two or three addresses for that recipient, one or more of which are incorrect.  I want to delete the incorrect addresses but they seem to stay no matter what I do.  I checked Outlook's Contacts section for the recipient's name and made sure there was only one email address listed.  Where do I go to find the source of the incorrect addresses that show up and how do I delete them?

After typing in the first few letters, use the cursor arrow to scroll down to the entry you don't want and hit the Delete key while it is highlighted, that should remove it.

Traval:

Thanks for your quick response.

OK that worked but it's necessary to press the delete key while holding down the left mouse key to keep it highlighted but not let it go to the address line.  If you let go of the mouse key, the incorrect address will pop up into the addressee line and it's too late to delete it from wherever it came.  Can you tell me where these incorrect addresses are stored when they're not in the Contacts section?  .
