Password wont save outlook 2000

I have outlook 2000 setup on a hp pavilion laptop with win xp home,

It is on a wireless network ,

Does anybody know why a password would not save in outlook 2000 on the above setup?

I have the account settings setup correctly and have entered the password and clicked save. Both from the account settings panel and when asked while receiving mail.

500 points to the first one with the answer.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
