FrontPage 2003 - Two identical pgms but links do not display in one
I have never used FP 2003 and am totally unfamiliar with these "webbot" this and "webbot" that stuff that I'm seeing. Be that as it may - I'm tasked with maintaining a simple change of address application written using FP2003. The app consists of three small programs: Change Address form, Send Email form, Confirmation form. I am comparing the program code (for the change Address form) in production against the same program code in our test system. Line for line - they are identical. However, when I copy in the production program into our test site and hit my F12 key to display the form - it's missing the left side navigation links as well as the page heading! But the code is freaking identical! I don't know what is going on - but I suspect it is something really simple...like some kind of re-linking that I need to check-off???? I have no idea - and this program is counter-intuitive. Any Experts out there who can help me out of this jam?
New problem:
In an attempt to figure out how to make the left side navigation buttons appear along with the heading - I hit the Recalculate Hyperlinks function...which took forever and resulted in no change. So - I've eliminated the program copied in the the production side. Now, I noticed that a "New Link Bar" has appeared in the left side nav and heading of my original test program...! I don't recall inserting that! when I try and delete it - it wants to delete the entire left side navigation buttons, not just the one "New Link bar" button. Sigh. How can I fix this mess? (Will check back on Monday for replies.)

I copied the program code from the production site into the test site using Windows Explorer. Then I opened FP and opened the copied program for editing. Then I hit F12. There were missing headers and leftside nav buttons.
I reverted back to using the original program code. But now there is a "new link bar" button there without a link. When I click on Properties for this button, it's trying to display "sid:1351_cmp_hr110_vbtn_a .gif". I do a search in the code for this missing link and nothing turns up. It's being generated by FP - but it shouldn't be there and I can't seem to delete it without deleting the entire group of leftside nav buttons above it. Sigh.

Forget it - I've stopped trying to fix the program and have edited the production version inside the production environment and it's working so I don't care anymore about this item.

Thanks for the reply, Corey. You won't believe what has happened now: After editing the production version and making the requested updates - the entire set of requests has changed. The "new" requests will require an entire rewrite - so, the good side is, I'll be able to eliminate using FP altogether! I'm awarding you "points for persistence" and for hanging in there with me.
Thanks - and good luck with your site!
