X -configure driver search path

Hi all,

Using xorg 6.8.2 on gentoo linux.

Where is the search path that "X -configure" uses to find drivers defined?

There is standard path for X11
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers

OK, I was afraid of that.

What happens when X -configure doesn't see the drivers in that path/directory, and also lists drivers in Xorg.0.log that aren't in that path/directory?
