VPN error 800

i have set up a vpn connection on windows 2000 server. now the thing is one client connects and he has no problem, the other client connects and gets a vpn error 800. the vpn client they are using is winxp vpn connection.
i do not think my router has outdated firmware else the other client too would not get in.
any ideas?

i am running isa 2000 server. the user is in a remote location, and i have no idea what firewall policies his hotel has

It would seem that the client getting this error has a firewall, which is disabling NetBIOS or/and VPN.

no the user disabled his firewall and still cannot connect :(

I think that it would be best to temporarily uninstall the firewalls, completely.. Make sure that there aren't any other built in firewalls on... Like, with Windows XP, it has a bulit in Firewall that causes people so many problems (because many people are unaware of it)..
Just make sure of this.

Also, is this VPN setup over the internet??

If so, can the client who's having problems connecting PING the server that it's trying to connect to??
(This can be done, by openning command prompt (start > run > "cmd" > ok), and typing:
   ping servername
Then hitting enter).

yes the vpn setup is over the internet.
he is able to ping the external ip address of the isa server.
he is coming back tommorow, i shall have a look at his pc.
will post you if any problems
