Software install via Remote Desktop

I need to install a utility on the Server (located in another room) from my local CD drive.  Is this possible via Remote Desktop?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes.. What you need to do, is share the file (the program that you want to install) on your machine... then download it to their machine, via remote desktop.

If firewalls block this, and you can't disable them; then as long as you can both access the internet, just upload the file to a server, and then redownload it..

But I don't think that there's a built in functionality that allows you to share the files..... just improvise  :)
