is using culture info class safer than getting culture info from database?

Hi experts!

a)We want to use the culture info class from .net framework so upon user requesting a page we show him info
depending on the culture, b)or instead user just choses a value from dropdownlist and we show him the page
depending on the culture he chooses.

Which one is safer a or b?

I'm sure it depends on your coding practices... I didn't see anything on the net about exploits for these cultureinfo necessarily...
I don't write .net so I'm not sure, perhaps it's a question better suited for
