Crystal Reports 8.5 error when exporting to Excel "crw32.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows"

When trying to export to excel via the application option, get the error above.  Only trying Excel gives this error. I can export and save as the "file option" just fine.

I have already tried the export monthly hot fix.  Upgraded to the latest service pack and looked at the temporary file areas.  No change.

I know this is pc dependent since I can run Crystal 8.5 and export fine on my pc.
PCs are Win2000.  Crystal is Crystal Reports 8.5 Standard.

Any ideas save for a complete uninstall?

CR 8.5 Standard doesn't include the license to distribute the Crystal dlls like crw32.exe.

It works from applications so long as Crystal is installed since you then have a license.  CR8 was the first version with this requirement,  You need the DEVELOPER edition.

Needing to have Crystal Developer makes no sense.   I have another pc with Crystal Standard that works fine.
What is different between the two is the problamatic pc did not have Office2000 installed locally at the time of the Crystal install.

Are you saying that because crystal was installed BEFORE Office, the crystall dll did not know what to do with the MS Office function?  Therefore, I need to uninstall Crystal, completely.  Ensure that MS Office is local and completely installed.  Then install Crystal?

You misunderstood my CR Developer comment.  If you are wanting to install an application that uses Crystal on a machine that doesn't have Crystal, then you need the Developer edition.  

If all your machines will have Crystal installed then you should be ok.

Here is the latest export drivers for CR8.5  You may need to update them to work with Office 2K

Thanks for the clarification.  I already tried the export driver.  

Since the problem seems to be profile dependent, I can log into the pc and run fine.  The user can't.
I guess I have to try uninstall and reinstall.
