buttons on the menu bar

any way to put buttons on the menu bar itself ?
the toolbar takes up too much space.
i'd like to take advantage of the unused space on the menu bar

using VC6 Doc/View SDI

You can put menu items directly on the menu bar. By default, when you create new item on the menu bar, Resource Editor creates popup menu. Unselect popup checkbox, and new menu item is placed directly on the menu bar.

took me a while but by using ModifyMenu() with a bitmap
got me the results i desired
thanks for the push in the right direction
