Active Desktop; Web auto refresh

How do I use an active desktop with a webpage that has an autorefresh on it.  I would like it to refresh my active desktop every x seconds, when the page refreshes.

Currently it ignores the refresh altogether.

I can post a link to the page if that would help.

1 Solution
Go to display properties in the control panel click customize desktop.Select web tab.
There you have your homepage (or the page you want displayed).
select it and click properties.
Select the option "using the following schedule"
Then set the time the page refreshes / synchronizes..
there are lots of options ...select one which suits your needs.

I would like it to update every 60 seconds or so, that only list updates in days.

This computer is on a lan, so I want to keep the page from dispaying offline.

Do you have another solution??

I am not sure if I understand you correctly..
Synchronization occurs at the precise time that you set it..
(usually we do it every 5 minutes as not to use too much resources).
But if you wish I think you can set synchro to run every minute from where I told you.
Synchronization is an online process and can not be applied/displayed "offline".
Every time the page synchronizes it gets the latest update. How deep does the update get depends
on what you select in the settings I mentiopned (one, two etc pages deep).
So set your synchro to run every minute if that is what you want.
But I suggest you do not do it every minute but about every 30 minutes.

Ahh I get it...You would like web to be updated constantly....or at least every minute.
Well, there is currently no "refresh" option but you can use a trick.
Select your schedule to run every day at 30 minutes intervals. How?
Just give your schedule a different name.
Like run every day at 00:30 shedulename =SC1
                               01:00 shedulename =SC2

So, you said that you ran yours every 5 minutes, how did you set it up to do that?  (You didn't manual type in all the times of the day in 5 minute intervals, I assume)

How do you "set synchro"?
First you select your web page to synchronize.
Select properties.
Select schedule.
Select "using the following schedule"
Click "Add".
Name your schedule (example S1)
There you have the option when to trigger it....
If you need synchro every 5 minutes then you will do a little typing.
(But that is necessary only for working hours)
Once you set it then you forget it.
Every schedule triggers at designed time and you worry no longer.

Ohh,I forgot this one :
From IE - tools - internet options - general - temporary internet files - settings .....
check for newer version of stored pages ...change it to automatic.
If set to automatic, and you're online, pages should refresh as set once you've customized the settings and exited the browser to ensure the settings are in place.
If you're interested in synchronizing and setting up pages for offline viewing, this:
To make the current Web page available offline
On the Favorites menu, click Add to Favorites.
Select the Make available offline check box.
To specify a schedule for updating that page, and how much content to download, click Customize.
Follow the instructions on your screen.
Before you go offline, make sure you have the latest version of your pages by clicking the Tools menu and then clicking Synchronize.

Here ...try a very nice programme which is free and will do what you need exactly :
