I am trying to launch a software program locally on my computer through a EXE file created from Flash SWF. In my EXE file, there are buttons that have getURL assigned to them. However, it is launching a browser when the button is pressed. I want the EXE file to launch the software program and not the a browser. Is this possible? Can Flash send UDP signals? Ill give more points if someone figures this out.

My button function sample is as follows:

url_btn.onRelease = function() {
            trace("onRelease url_btn");
      getURL("http://localhost:5555?Somename", "_self");
}

THanks!!

If the file path is valid it should work.
