add counter from server ('Unable to connect to machine')

I try to add counter from server from Performance Monitor in my local machine. Message show 'Unable to connect to machine', how can I connect to server? Actually my local machine is in the network.

First off, are you typing it in properly? it should be of the format "\\servername" (without the quotes).

Are you a local administrator of your local computer & the server?

I dont really know what permission levels are required, but these seem like obvious things to check for, and correct if at all necessary.

Yes, I type the server name correctly and I am the  local administrator of your local computer & the server.

Ok, I tried put server IP address, instead of server name '\\servername', and it works.
