VBScript:  Returning value of input box

Hello, thanks for reading my post.

My web page consists of two frames:  frame A and frame B.

Frame A contains a drop-down list with a bunch of arbitrary values and a link.  This link will open up in frame B, and the content will be determined by the value of the drop-down box.

WITHOUT submitting the value of the drop-down box via a form, I was wondering if there was a way to read the value from frame A while frame B is being rendered.

Thanks in advance.

sub onChange_dropdown()
Dim sVal
sVal = document.all("select box name").value
document.frames(1).location.href = sVal
end sub

call this procedure on the onchange event of the dropdown. i think your problem will be solved.

Hello, thanks for the reply.

My apoligies, I think I might have been unclear.  The drop-down itself isnt going to open up a new page.  In addition to the drop-down box, there will also be a standard anchor tag:
<a href="somepage.asp" target="someframe">Click here</a>

But, I want people to be able to change the value of the drop-down before they click on this link and have that value be read from the new page.

Any suggestions?  Thanks again.
