Why is my windows form so large?

So i have  form seems to be created a C# windows form app. in the design view of the C# form, my form seems to be 584 x 352.  Nowhere in the properties does it specify any control should be larger than 584 x 352.  When i build my project, the resulting EXE application is over 600 pixels high. No controls actually go outside the 352 pixel high form, it's just blank space and i can't figure out how to make it smaller.

Couple of things to check:
1. What is your WindowState property set to? (Normal, Maximized, Minimized)
2. Controls should not affect the size of your form. Check to make sure there is nothing in the form load event, InitializeComponent, or after InitializeComponent call that resizes the form.

do you do anything to your screen resolution? smaller forms look bigger on the smaller resolution

Setting the maximumsize to 584,352 did the trick, but maximizing does nothing now.
