Reading Tif images

I was using the TGifImage component (I believe that was the exact name, it was long ago I began using it), but it reads Tif also and I use D5.  I can read some Tif images, while others give the following errors:
Range check error ..... followed by "Error evaluating photometric interpretation: 65536"

How do most people here read Tif images into an image component (or into TBitmap)?

using a third party component, even GraphicEx is very limited in the amoun of TIFFs it can read

TIFF is a complicated format because there are MANY varieties of TIFF formats, the most common being group 4, but I haven't found a descent FREE third party that reads them

I have used ImagXpress from pegasus imaging, works really well, there's a version to make annotaions to the images too

Thanks.  It still doesn't solve it but thanks anyways.  I wonder if D2005 has better handling components for this?

if the GreaphicEx didn't help, I suggest you to use ImageEn, but it's not free, but have a lot of features

BTW, I don't think d2005 have any improvements for the Image components in the win32 part, but .Net already have support for tif images
