I have been trying to look for a drop down list suggestion for my website (www.dieselhousestudios.com) that will replace the frame/"contents" list with hyperlinks for some time.  I saw the following unresolved question on your site and wondered if someone could look at me site and provide detailed instructions on how to insert it into my html code to provide the drop down functionality that I need;

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/MS_Office/FrontPage/Q_20959946.html?query=FrontPage+2002&clearTAFilter=true

I have always used the WYSIWYG method within FP for designing my pages/web site, so I will require very detailed instructions for resolving this. (eg reference to the code that has been written by FP) I would like to be able the control the colours in the dropdown list.  Also, I am not fussy whether I have to click on the menu item to obtain the drop down or whether the drop down appears when the mouse hovers over it.  Either way, I will be very happy if I can resolve this.

Having said that, I would also be very interested to know whether there are some add-ins that I could use from third party resellers etc. Again I will need detailed instructions on how to solve this issue using this route if it is possible??

I have found a site which I would love to replicate in terms of drop down lists and look and layout;

http://www.aveda.com/home.tmpl

Can this be done, including the layout?

Hi,

I think that these menues have been created with flash.  Anyway,  you can create such menus by using Macromedia Fireworks.  There are many other programs.  Just google for DHTML Menu creator.  You will find many good inexpensive programs.

When you create the menu as you like, you will have detailed instructions.

The code that you have seen in the EE post that you put in your first post is not what you are looking for.  That code is for a Jump menu.

hhammash,

Could you recommend a program that would allow me to do this.  I am not familiar with any DHTML at all so I would not know what I am looking for.

Thanks,
David

There is a cheap but good program called.

Popup Menu Creator. This program generates the menu then gives you instructions where to put the code,  and there is a very active forum for support.  The forum is administered by the creator of the program.  You get straight answers to your questions.

The website for it is:

http://popup.jscentral.com/

Also you have another one with more facilities but more expensive:
http://software.xfx.net/

There are many,  but I am using the first one and I feel that it is enough.
