Hello to everybody

I am back.i.e my name is shiva prasad viswanatha.I regret for not reverting for some of the answers. As I have laready said that I am novice  in Programming.

Now I have an VB application. It is running fine on some systems . But on some systems which is LAN based it is encountering problems like "Type 13 Mismatch Error" in OS 98 and Win Xp it is showing Error 3706 Provider cannot be found or it is not properly installed.
Why does it happen like that ?But one more thing is that I have installed in my system which is XP, its working.

why is this inconsistency?

Well, it seems that your app is accessing a database, right?
And I also guess you are using ADO (please don't tell me you are using DAO!!!)...

Then, you need MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) and JET components installed (if you are using a JET provider).

My guess is that you referenced MS ActiveX Data Objects 2.6 (or 2.7, 2.8...) on your VB app. These components ARE NOT always installed with Windows!!! Win2000, XP, 2003 server do have DAO 2.7 (and greater) installed with the system, but you cannot rely on that.

When you deploy a app that uses these components, you must make shure they are installed and that the installed version is equal or greater than the one you referenced on your VB app.

These components are free for download from MS site.

    Special Note:
Please becarefull when installing MDAC on NT systems (win2000,xp, etc...). These are language dependants... if you install the english version of MDAC on a non-english windows system, you will damage the MDAC on that system.

    hope to be of help
    stay safe
