FTP access is denied to a user

Hi

i have installed ftp services on the windows 2003 server. this is a domian controller as well

i have created an FTP users group called FTPUSERS and added user01 to this group

i have also given rights for this group to logon locally

from iis under the default site i have created a virtual directory called user01 and pointed it to C\intepub\user01

from commnad prompt i typed ftp 10.0.70.11 and then logged on using user01 credentials sucessfully.

i also unchecked the allow anoymous connection to the ftp site from the secuirty accounts.

when i type ftp://10.0.70.11/user01 i get a username and password dialog box

here i enter user01 credentials and i get an error message : an error occurred openning the folder to the ftp server. Make sure you have permissions to access this folder.

however if i logon with the administrator credentials i can logon fine to the ftp site

user01 does not need to have logon locally rights.

you don't need a virtual directoy if the username and folder name are the same. (as long as the folder is under the main FTP instance)

user01 does need to have read only access to inetpub folder and read/write access to the user01 sub folder.

Let me know if this helps.
