phpBB MOD to support watching a forum for new topics?

I tried searching the board, but their search page produces no results, no matter what I search for - must be broken.

I'd like to enable forum watching in my phpBB setup, so users that desire it can be notified of new topics when they are initially added.

The watching a topic for a reply function is fine for an existing topic, but not for new topics.

Upgrade to PHPBB 2.2 - M2. It has built in Forum watching as well as the usual Topic watching.

Thanks for the rapid reply Reapz, but according to, PHPBB 2.2 - M2 is not yet available:

    >When is phpBB 2.2 going to be released?
    >We believe that our products should not be set with a release date. This means that the >developers are not rushed to finish the product by a set date, or dissapoint our users by pushing >said date back. Thusly, there is absolutely no release date for phpBB 2.2.0. It will be released
    >when the product is finished. This way, you are bound to get a higher quality product.

You're right m8. I remembered reading about it what seemed like ages ago so I assumed it would be out by now.
