Cable AOL wireless networking
Does anyone know if its possible to configure a bog standard wireless cable router to work with a cable AOL connection? If so what are the settings? eg Is it a PPOA or PPTP etc

I can configure a router and set up a wireless network in minutes. Dont have a problem with that. My problem is for the life of me I cannot get a wireless router configured to work with AOL. Either wired or wirelessy. What are the setting (if any) required to configure aol cable to a router. thats my question?
Here is a pretty intense discussion on AOL and Wifi routers. The bottom post finds the setup completed and working.
Personally, I would never suggest to any of my clients that they even consider using AOL, for many reasons, this issue being one of them. But, I understand that some people actually like the AOL look and the features they offer (although for the life of me I cannot understand why. :)
Anyway, read through this and see if anything makes sense..

Hmm.. after further investigation, it seems that AOL tells us that only specific routers will work with its Broadband Cable connections..

Another reason I would drop them in a heartbeat! :)

Non of the responses so far have been helpful or What I knew already. I am not sure how to proceed to get this question deleted, as I have now no need to fullfill this question, yet would still like a solution.

I am not versed in the 'bog' wifi cable router, but if you are using Cable, then neither of the above is relevant. But, a router is a router, and it should be easy to setup if you have the manual. It will be providing NAT (or PAT) service to your internal network, which allows multiple devices on the internal LAN to access the internet where you have only one public IP address. The hardest part will be configuring the Wifi part of the setup, meaning employing the proper security (WEP | WPA | MAC Address Filtering)...
