I have Exchange 2003 running on Server 2000.  It has been running for almost 10 months now without any problems.  It is running on DSL for a small church.  I purchased an SMTP service through DNSMadeEasy because I am on a dynamic IP an cannot send mail through SBC.  I have the EXACT same setup at home and it works fine.

On the SMTP Virtual Server, I changed the port to 5521, and for the SMTP Smart host I listed smtp1.dnsmadeeasy.com and under authentication listed my username and pswd that DNSMadeEasy had me setup.  I have one account for the church to send mail.  And I have a different account for my house to send mail.

All of a sudden, last week, we could no longer send email out...only internally.  If you look in the queue when you send an email, it says "The remote SMTP service rejected AUTH negotiation".  I called DNSMadeEasy and they confirmed that there was no way I was on a Black List and that my account was operable and working fine.  To confirm this, I took the church's login account, entered it into mail email server at home and it worked fine.  I then took my home login account and set it up on the church's SMTP service and it didn't work.  the problem is definetly NOT with the login username or password.  It has got to be with that server at the church.  The biggest problem is that I have the EACT same setup at the house and it works AWESOME.  Not to mention that I have been using it at the church for almost 10 months now and have not changed a single thing.  What is going on?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!  MANY points to whomever can help me out!

as far as anything being safe...i must say nothing is safe...so back ur data first...
exchange reinstall does not touch ur data....but u must reapply the service pack and hot
fixes.....run exchange setup and then u will see the option to reinstall once setup finds
that exchnage is already installed...

OH boy this is not going to be easy....if after reinstall all ur exchange verbs are OK ...then
it must be ur DSL line and their router or modem....U have already test that authenitication works from another location....so it is either exchange or the modem...
u have reinstalled exchange already and only thing left is a complete reinstall including
ur windows also(just incase IIS is corrupted...because IIS plays a mjore role in routing
messages)...
i tell u this...if exchange and AD are installed on the same box...take it home and try
from ur home and see if successfull if yes then u know for sure its is ur line....if no then
u know for sure it is ur server...
once email stops going out all of a sudden for no reason it is most likely
firewall(in ur case modem)...NOW THIS IS JUST MY OPINION...
sorry kido i hope u did not think i wasted ur time....
