Help on Converting PDF to TIFF using Acrobat SDK

Hi , I want to automate the process of saving a PDF file as TIFF file with JPEG compression. Is it possible using Acrobat SDK ? Also is it possible to create a simple PDF toolkit which can count, merge, split, and change compression using Acrobat SDK. I know there are toolkits avaiable out there but they don't satisfy all our requirements, so we are planning to buy SDK and develop our own.
Thanks for your help in making the descison in advance
Regards

You can do this with the SDK, but it's not easy: Because there is no mechanism to specify the compression when extracting images from a PDF file, you have to do this manually. The SDK does give you access to all the data in a PDF file that describe the image (e.g. width, height, bit depth, bitmap data), you can extract the bitmap data and write it out in any format you like. Without any previous experience with both the Acrobat SDK and the output format, don't expect that this is something you can do on a Friday afternoon... It takes quite some time to get familiar with the SDK. You can take a look as some of the SDK documents here: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/acrobat/sdk/index_doc.html

You need to write a plug-in to have access to all this information in the PDF file. The API that you would use is described in this document: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/acrobat/sdk/pdf/plugins/APIReference.pdf

Before we talk about the capabilities of the Acrobat SDK: Do you know that you need the full version of Acrobat in order to use most parts of the SDK? A small portion of the SDK can also be used with the free Reader, but most features are only available with the full version. Which version of Acrobat do you have?
