I have a customer with a Windows 2000 Advanced Server Active Directory domain. I am looking for a way to allow the customer to easily send messages through the network to the Windows XP clients.<br />

The customers that will be using the system are Police Officers and not all of them are terribly computer literate. Therefore, I was looking for a simple way, possible GUI based, to allow a supervisor to send messages to the client machines. I don't want to run something like MSN Messenger or any kind of &quot;chat&quot; software. I would like the messages to only be generated from certain workstations.<br />

I know the NET SEND command, but was looking for something a little more user-friendly to give them this capability.

The Windows operating systems have distinct methodologies for designing and implementing networks, and have specific systems to accomplish various networking processes, such as Exchange for email, Sharepoint for shared files and programs, and IIS for delivery of web pages. Microsoft also produces server technologies for networked database use, security and virtualization.
