Windows Media Player 10 and version 9 are free, of course, and convert MP3s into audio CDs perfectly.

With MP3s being so mainstream, you should get a new cd player, most new ones play MP3s:) Just a tip.
In version 9, File->Copy->Copy to Audio CD to create audio CDs.
Nero is faster though.
More over media player records the list in random order. Don't  know why? But these problems are not there in Nero. Its more user friendly. I heard http://www.cdburnerxp.se/ has some free CD burning software, but I'm not sure how good it is. You could try it probably.

mudharan, it does not record in random order, you have the option to order your files.

Just use your Windows Media Player. It is not slow, I burn them very quickly and it is much easier, since the software is already installed on your PC.
