What is the difference between Data Reader & Data Adapter ?

Can you briefly explain what is the difference between Data Reader & Data Adapter ?

    data reader = goes right to the database and retrieve the data from the database (concerned faster response, because it grabs data row 1 at a time)

    data adapter = goes to the database and grabs all data and dumps it to ur pc in a dataset and then disconnects from the database. This is recommend to reduce network traffic, and constant connections to the database. This is nice when u want to manipulate data.
