It looks like you have to purchase the SDK:

    FREE - NO purchase required.

    Download the CSDK here

It contains the ODBC driver (NOT listed as 'IBM INFORMIX 3.82 32 BIT' driver).

Once installed, in the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator: Admin Tools, Data Sources (ODBC), User DSN tab, [Add] button, you will see the current IBM Informix ODBC driver. On my machine I installed it today and it shows up as IBM INFORMIX ODBC DRIVER (not as 'IBM INFORMIX 3.82 32 BIT' driver).

It is important that the services file (on XP: in the Windows directory, find system32\drivers\etc\services and edit that file)... it's important that the service name matches the service name used in the IBM Setnet32 app. A "Test Connect" will show either an error or success).

    Follow these instructions explicitly:

I was able to connect via ODBC in Windows XP ODBC Datasource Admin, and in the IBM Setnet32 and in the IBM ILogin Demo -- even though I cannot get Visual Studio to use the database... WTF MS and IBM?
