I have a Dell 128MB (rebadged lexar) usb Key. Its about 6 months old.

I just attempted to transfer a file to it, but i was told it was full. I have one file on there which is 200kb in size, but is shows as only haveing 10mb free.

If i attepmt to delete the file i get error messages saying the delayed write failed.

If i attepmt to format the key i get a error saying thet the format failed.

But i can read the file on the key copy it off and run it. So my PC can communicate with the key fine, any ideas?

500 points, just because i can :)

Any help much appreciated. If you need further info let me know, i'm online for the next 5 hours. (isint work great).

If you can't write to it, I think the drive is faulty.  In that case, you can try reformatting it (perhaps another machine?), but if that fails, the key is no good.  You have to be careful when removing them to make sure they are not being written to or that a write has not completed.  A software eject will make sure this is the case.

PC Inspector claims to be able to handle USB keys, as well as hard drives - perhaps it can do something to fix the device?  I don't know of any other way.
