The Host Server is Unreachable

Guys

I am using SurfControl with ISA 2004 Server as the proxy. Ocassionally when users try to access some websites they get the following message presented to them:

Technical Information

Error Code:- 502 Proxy Error. The Host Server is Unreachable.

If i configure the user to bypass the proxy server and go out straight through the firewall, they can access the website concerned without any problems. This leads me to think that the ISA Server is at fault somehow, but i don't know how to resolve it.

Please Help....

Did you enable Firewall on ISA...If so can you try to check the routing table...

Make sure your ISA server has the DNS cofigured correctly.

DNS appears to be configured correctly and the firewall on the ISA server is not being used. It is only being utilised as a proxy server only for SurfControl

Okies...Error Code 502 is explained by MS in many ways(LOL..Always same)...But one of the suspect which even we experienced is the routing path...In one way 502 refers to bad gateway...Say for example when the client requests a page then he receives 502..this one is mainly due to the routing table itself..if you have the default route on ISA which just throws the traffic to firewall or edge router then you may want to chekc the load on ISA..another could be reason...
