Any restriction for submission on search engine

Hi,

I am looking forward to re-submit my sites, i h ave already submitted my sites on dozens of spider & directories search engines. But i am now concern of how many times i can submit my sites, is there any limitation, do search engine have banned policy i exceed thier policy.

Could you please let me know which search engines have such restriction so that i can know, or i can submit as much as i can, is there any suggestion what is the proper gap between each submission.

I also read somewhere if i submit my sites continually this helps to increase my rank is that right, please let me know how spider and directores engine reacts on this case.

Does submitting into FFA engine increase my link popularity/

Most search engines won't penalize you for re-submitting your site, but its a moot point really because there is no benefit to submitting your site even once.  Submitting your site continually will not increase your rank, it just wastes your time and makes you a nuisance.  The search engines prefer to find your site themselves.  They do this by following links from another website that links to you.

Incoming links are a significant factor in search engine rankings.  If you don't have even one, your site will probably not get indexed even if you submit it and a spider visits your site.  You would like to have as many links from good quality sites to your site as possible.  The best way to do that is to build a quality site with original content that people will want to link to.

There are really only three relevant search engines - Google, Yahoo, and MSN.  The vast majority of your search engine traffic will come from one of those three.

Submitting your site to an FFA site will not help you.  In fact, it is more likely to harm your search engine placement.

There is a great deal of misinformation online about search engines and search engine optimization (SEO).  It appears that you've found a bunch of it.  I would strongly recommend that you read Google's Webmaster Guidelines (www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html) and take the time to properly go through this SEO tutorial - www.seo-guy.com/tutorial.html.  These will give you good information about what you should and shouldn't do to make your site more search-engine friendly.

1. "The search engines prefer to find your site themselves.  They do this by following links from another website that links to you."

-->But if i my links are not reciprocal any other website how can i get indexed, on that case i need submission, otherwise how can search crawl my meta tags and contents.

2. "The best way to do that is to build a quality site with original content that people will want to link to."

But its not easy to get link with website who have good page rank, id there any other options for link popularity.

3. "There are really only three relevant search engines - Google, Yahoo, and MSN. "

Yes its true 95% of traffic comes from here

I have found that Yahoo indexed very fast as they are directories, but Google seems to follow their own algorithms to indexed the sites, like their sandbox policy says that it might take 6-8 months to be indxed for new website, if you say that i can indexed by exchanging links to other website, how can Google indexed me if they apply sandbox policy to new websites.

4. "Submitting your site to an FFA site will not help you.  In fact, it is more likely to harm your search engine placement."

Yes, i think so it will help FFA to send spam emails rather, but why these SEO services advertise saying FFA increase the Link Popularity, why ppl are still submitting to thousands of FFA and directories. What do you think about SEO services, are making money for nothing or ppl are stupid using such services.

5 "There is a great deal of misinformation online about search engines and search engine optimization (SEO).  It appears that you've found a bunch of it."

Thanks ya it looks so...because it is so confusing some of the informartion are not correct.

Q) Is there differnet optimization techniques for differnet search engines or once i have optimize my website that will be taken as optimized website.
for instance, do i need to optimize based on what google wants or yahoo wants or any other search engines.

I am looking forward to submit my some of new websites, what are the things i need to be careful and follow, please let m eknow.

and could you please let me know how search engines place you on higher rank, is it only because of your reciprocal links, how they analyse (i know my website should match all the optimization techs, but i am concern how they put me on good position)
Do my rank increase day by day.

Backlinks (incoming from another site) are a measure of a site's importance to the search engines.  Google uses a proprietary technology called 'PageRank'.  According to Google: "PageRank interprets a link from Page A to Page B as a vote for Page B by Page A. PageRank then assesses a page's importance by the number of votes it receives" (www.google.com/corporate/tech.html).  PageRank is one of many factors that determines where a specific page ends up in search results, but the reality is that a page with no incoming links will get very little attention from any of the relevant search engines.

2. "The best way to do that is to build a quality site with original content that people will want to link to."
But its not easy to get link with website who have good page rank, id there any other options for link popularity.

You're right, it can be difficult.  That's why ongoing link-building is an essential part of promoting any site.  The SEO-guy tutorial mentioned above has a section on linking and exchanging links.  Other ways of getting backlinks are to submit your site to good online directories.  The most important of these is the Open Directory Project (www.dmoz.org).  Getting listed there will ensure your site of appearing in all relevant search engines and many other directories.  Read the submission guidelines carefully and submit your site to the most appropriate category.  With DMOZ you have to be patient though as it can take up to 6 months (or more in some cases) for your site to appear there.  In the meantime, you can seek out other relevant directories, both general ones and industry specific ones.

"3. "There are really only three relevant search engines - Google, Yahoo, and MSN. "

The Google sandbox does not prevent you from getting indexed.  If Google finds your site through an incoming link and there is any reasonable amount of content on it, your page will be indexed.  The sandbox effect basically acts as a filter that reduces the ranking of newer sites.  There is no real way around this.  The best you can do is build a quality website with lots of original content and good incoming links.  In time, your position will improve.

There seems to be no end to the companies offering 'SEO services' and software that will improve your rankings, but most of them are worthless at best and harmful at worst.  There are some good SEO consultants out there, but the trick is locating them.  If you're interested, here's a great thread about finding a good SEO company - www.experts-exchange.com/Q_21016555.html.

"Q) Is there differnet optimization techniques for differnet search engines or once i have optimize my website that will be taken as optimized website.  for instance, do i need to optimize based on what google wants or yahoo wants or any other search engines."
The only search engines you should worry about are Google, Yahoo, and MSN.  Each has their own criteria and methods for ranking websites.  However, the core SEO principles are applicable to all three, so the best place to start is to learn and apply them (as outlined in the SEO-guy tutorial).  Monitor your results in each of the three search engines and you'll start to get an idea of the differences between them.

"and could you please let me know how search engines place you on higher rank, is it only because of your reciprocal links, how they analyse"
Here's what Google says: "Google's order of results is automatically determined by more than 100 factors, including our PageRank algorithm . . . Due to the nature of our business and our interest in protecting the integrity of our search results, this is the only information we make available to the public about our ranking system" (www.google.com/webmasters/4.html).  In other words, there is no comprehensive list of what all the factors are because that would make it easy for people to manipulate the system.  The core SEO principles mentioned above represent most of what is known about what works, however it is important to heed Google's advice - to make websites for users, not search engines.  In other words, optimize your site by all means, but don't spend time on minor SEO issues that could be spent improving your site for your users.

"Do my rank increase day by day"
Once it has been found, your site should get crawled on a regular basis - as often as every day, but usually at least once a week.  Google updates their index (and thus your ranking) every month or so.  The other search engines are similar.

Thanks for all the information.

1. So if i change my content or any meta tags do i need to submit my site again, or spider will automatically crawl them. WHat about directories engine.

2. How long google will take to indexed a brand new website, if i have created only one or page website under my new domain. and i have submit to Google for instance do Google apply same indexing rule for only 2 pages or they more concern about more numbers of pages under my domain.

3. What causes the dropping of ranks in any search engines, how can i improve my ranking if i have found that it dropping, you have suggested that by submitting multiple times does not help my rank go up.

4. As i have read SEO services use some kind of script on website to increase thier rank for client, but it is not legal according to Google, if they find they gonna penalised. But what is such techniques even they can fool the search engines. is it true or they are just trying to attract customers. They claims that they have special softwares that helps to rank on best 10 position, is it true. What you advice go for SEO services or i can do SEO myself that SEO services will do

Regards

Once the search engine is aware of your site, they will spider it on a regular basis and take note of any changes.  One other thing to note - the search engines pretty much disregard meta tags, so you don't need to worry about them too much.

"2. How long google will take to indexed a brand new website, if i have created only one or page website under my new domain. and i have submit to Google for instance do Google apply same indexing rule for only 2 pages or they more concern about more numbers of pages under my domain."

The Google index is updated about once a month.  Once your site has been discovered and Google decides to index it, it will appear in the next index.  All of the relevant factors are considered when Google decides whether or not to index a site it discovers and how to rank it, including site size.

"3. What causes the dropping of ranks in any search engines, how can i improve my ranking if i have found that it dropping, you have suggested that by submitting multiple times does not help my rank go up."

SEO is an ongoing process.  You should always be improving your site, adding fresh content, building incoming links, etc.  As there are numerous factors that go into determining site rankings, there are a numerous reasons why your site may drop in the ranks.  This is why you need to monitor your results.  Keep track of the changes you make and pay attention to what works and what doesn't work.

"4. As i have read SEO services use some kind of script on website to increase thier rank for client, but it is not legal according to Google, if they find they gonna penalised. But what is such techniques even they can fool the search engines. is it true or they are just trying to attract customers. People sometimes come up with ways to fool the search engines that work . . . but only for a short time.  Generally, the search engines pick up on these tricks very quickly and begin to penalize these techniques.  So there is no point putting a lot of effort into trying to stay ahead of the search engines with tricks when the same effort could be used to legtimately improve the site.

So these scripts and software are very unlikely to help your site rankings and are far more likely to harm your site rankings.  The websites/companies that offer these services & software are either just trying to make money selling a worthless product or don't know any better, ie. they don't realize that what worked three years ago (ie. re-submitting your site frequently, meta tags) don't work today.

"What you advice go for SEO services or i can do SEO myself that SEO services will do"

It's not rocket science.  If you are prepared take the time to learn proper SEO techniques and work hard to apply them, you should do it yourself.  If you don't have the time or the interest to do it yourself and want to hire someone, follow the advice of the thread linked above about finding a good SEO company.

Do u run SEO services....heheheh

1. is there any relation between DMOZ and Google or with any other search engines.

2. If i could not get good rank on major search engine, is PPC is only the option, i don;t wanna waste money on PPI they just insert my site on database and refresh time-to-time but there is not gurantee.

3. "All of the relevant factors are considered when Google decides whether or not to index a site it discovers and how to rank it, including site size"

So that mean even if googlebot visited my site that doesnot mean i will be indexed, can i be added on next googlebot visit or once i am not index on 1st visit i will be ignored forever.

4."You should always be improving your site, adding fresh content, building incoming links, etc"
What do you mean by fresh content do you mean i have to update my page contents everytime, if i have same contents on my 2 domains i will be penalised right?

5. yes i have found couple of articles, that google penalised using unethical way of submitting sites.

6. "It's not rocket science.  If you are prepared take the time to learn proper SEO techniques and work hard to apply them, you should do it yourself."

ya i love to learn more techniques on SEO, i hope Google is major and also it will be applicable to other SE. i love to see the result how i iwll do.......i hope if i use the correct tips and tech i will probably benifited.

"1. is there any relation between DMOZ and Google or with any other search engines."

Like many, many other directories, the Google Directory uses ODP/DMOZ data under the ODP license.  In addition to that, DMOZ is a trusted, important, regularly updated website which, under Google's algorithms, is inherently going to get crawled regularly.  Getting listed in DMOZ will pretty much ensure you of getting listed in all three of the major search engines.  Some people have even claimed that Google starts its crawl with DMOZ and expands out onto the net from there, but I think that's pretty speculative.

"2. If i could not get good rank on major search engine, is PPC is only the option, i don;t wanna waste money on PPI they just iseert my site on database and refresh time-to-time but there is not gurantee."

Organic SE ranking and PPC are complimentary.  You want to get the best SE ranking that you can whether you use PPC advertising or not.  If you find that PPC advertising gives you a good return on your investment by producing traffic and revenue, you should use that as well.  There are other ways of generating traffic, but they are generally only good for skewing your website statistics.  The only relevant visitors are the ones that want to be there and the vast majority of them are going to come from search engines, online promotion (ie. PPC), and offline promotion of your site (ie. signs at your place of business, website URL on your business card, etc.)

"So that mean even if googlebot visited my site that doesnot mean i will be indexed, can i be added on next googlebot visit or once i am not index on 1st visit i will be ignored forever."

If the googlebot visits you site, it will come back again.  Each time it visits your site, it will evaluate your site on its merits as measured by Google's algorithms.  Google will not hold it against you that you weren't indexed the first time.  Remember that Google only updates its index about once a month.

"What do you mean by fresh content do you mean i have to update my page contents everytime, if i have same contents on my 2 domains i will be penalised right?"

Fresh content means updating the content on your existing pages, but also adding new pages.  If you have duplicate content on two domains, you will likely be penalized.

"ya i love to learn more techniques on SEO, i hope Google is major and also it will be applicable to other SE"

As noted above, there are only three relevant search engines - Google (the biggest), Yahoo, and MSN.
