18K FILES 2.2GB FRONT END TO GRABBED SITES

Is it feasible to use Dreamweaver to manage 2.2GB of grabbed sites. I want to put a DVD together for my pupils - giving them links to various pages.

Can I get a copy of that? :D

What do you mean "manage"? Do you propose to put 2.2gb worth of files in the site panel? I wouldn't dare put 50mg worth of files there.
If you deactive the automatic site update, theorically the worst part should be bulding the site list, which should take some 20 mins. After that it all depends on how DW deals with the list (memory management). Unless you ask Macromedia (or try it), your guess is as good as mine.

The biggest site I've used was 15mbs worth of some 500 files. It took some 5-7 secs of loading everytime I changed sites.

Best regards,

Esopo.

Thank you. Did you mean 20MB is too much to put in the site panel?

Regards kjc
No, 20mb is ok enough. 2200mb may be a problem.
What do you mean "manage"? ...

Manage only in the sense of an offline browser. Many of my pupils do not have access to the internet. This would help some of them. I intend to use about 30 sites or so and give them access via a regularly updated front end.

I don't get how is DW better for browsing purposes than using a browser. Did you think of it only because of the site panel? Have you considered alternatives?
I want to use say five different index pages to access the DVD contents. I tried using windows shortcuts but they include the drive in the filepath. I need links that are relevent to the root. Also, I with to include some of my own content.
