IP Address database

This is a bit of a lazy question to be honest (don't have time to go searching!), one of our customers uses static IP's for all the machines and devices on their network. I'm looking for a piece of software to automatically check all the IP addresses on the network and log them to a database (or similar) along with which device they are associated with.

Should be some easy points for someone.

Hi barrymulholland,
SuperScan should do the trick for you.  You can configure it to ping a range of IP addresses and return a list of the ones that are live.  It'll also do name lookups for you.

You can find it at http://www.snapfiles.com/get/superscan.html

Does that help?
