We have several hundred Dell computers. &nbsp;Some batches of the GX270's we purchased came with maxtor harddrives which are all going bad. &nbsp;I am in the process of trying to clone them to different branded harddrives such as Western Digital. &nbsp;The problem I run into is after the new drive is installed in the pc and boots up, windows tries to install a driver for the harddrive. &nbsp;It always ends with an access denied error. &nbsp;The system continues to run fine after you click ok, but every time it is rebooted, windows attempts to install the harddrive and receives an access denied message.

Operating systems perform basic tasks, such as recognizing input from the keyboard, sending output to the display screen, keeping track of files and directories on the disk, and controlling peripheral devices such as disk drives and printers.
