Are you trying to get people to do your homework for you?  Eh?  Eh? ;)

It sure sounds like it to me - we can provide hints, but we aren't going to do homework for you.

To be honest, I didn't realise fist time this is a homework ...
I have to ask you something: What is the purpose of going to a course and then get the job done by others?

GinEric, Microsoft keeps a roof over my head and food in my tummy.  That said, I'm not that big a fan either but no display?  No power?  Yeesh, that windows OS is permeating everything!

Bill is an old friend of a friend, from back when he bought DOS to start Microsoft.  We understand each other quite well, no hard feelings, he makes money from my advice, I rib him a lot.

No problem, except the attacks from sympatico.ca which occur quite regularly, in the form mostly of viruses, but occasionally an active hacker.

I admire people that work for Bill.  It's like working for The Donald.

I prefer being Bugs Bunny, for which I have won more than one award.

There are books written on your question, however, I'll give it an honest shot:

01.)  Power - usually not enough
02.)  No video - cable pins bent or loose
03.)  No sound - lack of driver communication or volume muted
04.)  won't boot - corrupt or bad hardware or software
05.)  Everything else - 99% software, 1% hardware.

These are the "simple five" which account for the majority of failures.  By the way, I interpreted "5 comment causes" to actually be "5 common causes" in your question.

Sixth cause:  syntax error.
