How can I make PCL tag text  to be ASCII character representation?

I have a PCL file created with HP 5SI - PCL driver.  I can load the file into my COLD storage application and view it just fine.  The problem is the tagged text data is not in ASCII.  My COLD storage application does ASCII searches only.  The tagged text file looks like garbage when you try to mark (anchor) areas to be searched.  How can I create/print the PCL file with the tagged text be of ASCII representation and not just data font character representation?

    Accepted Solution

Is there any reason that you need to use PCL?
It would be easier to just use a Generic text driver.
