I have a PCL file created with HP 5SI - PCL driver. &nbsp;I can load the file into my COLD storage application and view it just fine. &nbsp;The problem is the tagged text data is not in ASCII. &nbsp;My COLD storage application does ASCII searches only. &nbsp;The tagged text file looks like garbage when you try to mark (anchor) areas to be searched. &nbsp;How can I create/print the PCL file with the tagged text be of ASCII representation and not just data font character representation?

A printer is a peripheral which makes a persistent human readable representation of graphics or text on paper or similar physical media. Traditional printers are being used more for special purposes, like printing photographs or artwork, and are no longer a must-have peripheral; 3D printing has become an area of intense interest, allowing the creation of physical objects. A font is a particular size, weight and style of a typeface. Each font is a matched set of type, one piece (called a "sort") for each glyph, and a typeface consists of a range of fonts that share an overall design. With the advent of digital typography, font is frequently synonymous with typeface, although the two terms do not necessarily mean the same thing. In particular, the use of "vector" or "outline" fonts means that different sizes of a typeface can be dynamically generated from one design. Each style may still be in a separate "font file" -- for instance, the typeface "Futura" may include the fonts "Futura roman", "Futura italic", "Futura bold" and "Futura extended" —- but the term "font" might be applied either to one of these alone or to the whole typeface.
