OWA HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable

When attempting to browse to OWA, we get this:  HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable

Exchange 2003 running on Windows Server 2003

No errors or problems in the server event log.

This is a confusing one. I've tried the KB article that has you recreate the IIS virtual directories - twice. Then reinstalled Exchange.

Note: everything was fine util I changed the default port in IIS from 81 to 80 (trying to get OMA working). Now OWA is down also - otherwise Exchange seems to be okay.

Thanks in advance...

If you changed the default port from 80 to 81 then you need to do:
http://server.domain.com:81/exchange

Set the port back from 81 to 80 and you should be back to square 1.

but he changed the oma port from 81 to 80

doesnt that now mean you have 2 iis sites using port 80?

No, we moved the web server to another site so we can now use port 80 for Exchange. Reverting to 81 was one of the first things I tried and it had no affect. Thanks though...

Figured it out...

We were trying (still trying) to get OMA working and had checked 'Front End Server' - I cleared that box and OWA is back!

Thanks for the help....
