Hi experts,

a client of us has a website hosted on a linux server and now he wants to have the possibility to let their customers
"upload" their own created file(s). (Let's say to start with Ms Word, Excel, Powerpoint and of course bitmap files (gif, jpg)).

When that's done the file(s) must be converted to PDF.

Now I am looking for the best practice on a linux based webserver to achieve this last step.
Does anyone know what's best? Are their somewhere scripts available?

Kind regards,

    Accepted Solution

Most PHP/Linux conversions rely on one of the open source pdf converters, such as ghostscript.  I do not know if your customer can install ghostscript on the web server or not.  If so, the following solutions should take care of the conversion nicely.  If you can not install a converter such as ghostscript on the web server, you may have to do the conversion on a local machine after downloading the files.

    Good luck,
