Help!  My site was blacklisted from Yahoo!

I had great rankings in Yahoo, but I got some "great" advise from another friend of mine who said that I should put some hidded text in my site.  Within a matter of a day, I lost my spot COMPLETELY in Yahoo.  I am not to be found even if you type my name in.  My question is, how long does it take to get back on Yahoo.  Am I gone forever or am I likely to come back in a week or so.

Thanks in advance.

You're not gone forever.  Once you remove the offending elements of your site, Yahoo should pick you up again.  It may take a little more than a week, so be patient.  To help pass the time, you can smack your 'friend' around a little bit and/or take a look at Yahoo's Quality Guidelines -

It depends on a lot of factors.

The best thing you can do is:

    1. Remove the hidden text and any other of your friend's ideas.

    2. Make sure that your site conforms to the Yahoo Search Technology Content Quality Guidelines

    3. Send an email to with 'Reinclusion Request' as the subject.  Explain exactly what you did and why, apologise and say you are sorry. Tell them your site now conforms to their Quality Guidelines.
