Recreating page template.

I have taken over the maintenance of a simple site with simple pages. The template files used, however, were not given to me (and won't be), and all the pages are related to the template with non-editable and editable regions.

The template is simple -- locks most of the page except for a body section, includes links to library items, etc. Is there a quick way to take a page from the template and save it so that it is saved *as* a template file that can then be used? When I try to do this manually Dreamweaver won't let me use the file, saying it is nested within itself.

    Take one of the pages and save it with a .dwt extension.

    At the top of the document you'll have;

    <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="doctitle" -->
    <title>My Document</title>
    <!-- TemplateEndEditable -->

    <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" -->
    <!-- TemplateEndEditable -->

    That you'll need to insure have generic entries, or something that will be used globally.

    Then just look for the editable tags;

    <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="EditRegion1" -->EditRegion1<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->

    That should do it...
