I am designing a site in DreamweaverMX and it is giving me certain errors and i am wondering how accurate they are.  Its giving me errors like:

height attribute of table tag not being supported in NetScape Navigator 7.0
background element of td tag not supporte in NV 6 and 7...

Are these accurate or have they been fixed?

    Hi Rookie,

When you say 'fixed' I assume you mean, has the browser's rendering engine been changed to include support for these attributes? Short answer, no. Those type of changes don't as a rule occur between versions - for the sake of developers as much as anything else.

BTW are you talking MX2004 here? MX doesn't have validation for NN7.

It's nice to have the quick tool in Dreamweaver, but IMHO you can't beat actually using the browser itself to be sure. That way you catch the subtle rendering differences that can occur, too.

Yes i am talking MX 2004...  There are a few areas where it is telling me that certain tags are not supported by NN7.0

One is the user control tags used on aspx pages by VS.NET:

    <td width="145" height="100%" valign="top"><MyWebSite:Menu id="Menu1" runat="server" />

It underlines the MyWebSite:Menu tag and says it isnt supported...

    Thanks for you reply!

Not too well-up on .NET, but it should be recognised as server markup if your server-model for the site is set up correctly. It sure ain't no HTML tag...!
    Good luck...
